"Art is my metaphysical dress. As a mystic I study light and gold for the dance of light and dark smoke and black to play out the themes of life’s mysteries."
The solitude of my studio is my aegis. Art is as old as the human race. Why the need to express or communicate in pigment, volume, line and stone? And dance, music and drama? Others buy and sell or choose to be warriors and tillers of the earth. It is a mystery. I am a painter. My soul seeks both inspiration and liberation in art. Art allows the escape from the crude reality of contemporary life where we find the masses ruling and mediocrity reigning. The search for deeper levels in my work concerns me greatly. Although at times I seek the refinement and beauty of life in my endeavors, most themes in my work are the disturbing pathos of the aftermath of the battle, the ancient battles; the struggle between darkness and light. I do search for an understanding and I reached it. So disturbing and so simple, and I cannot voice it.
